Alwin Daus accepted into the Emmy Noether Programme
Dr. Alwin Daus, group leader at ELD, is accepted into the Emmy Noether Programme. The Emmy Noether Programme of the German Research Foundation (DFG) enables outstandingly qualified young scientists to establish an independent research group and thus qualify for a university professorship.
Mr. Daus' research group will be hosted by the ELD, which will enable a close exchange with the research groups at RWTH Aachen University and AMO GmbH. The research activities are related to the growth of two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors and their integration into devices for flexible electronics, especially with the aim to achieve complementary electronics with low power consumption and operation at high frequency. Furthermore, research on optoelectronic devices (e.g., solar cells) may be conducted. With these research topics, Dr. Daus ideally complements the current activities at the chair, and we look forward to collaborating on these exciting projects.
Dr. Daus is now actively looking for PhD students to support him in this endeavor and will start founding his junior research group in the coming months.
