The Chair of Electronic Devices investigates electronic, optoelectronic and nanoelectromechanical devices and combines new materials with the well-known silicon technology. Among other things, graphene and related two-dimensional materials as well as perovskites are investigated. The experimental work aims at demonstrating new or improved functionalities in micro- and nanoelectronics. Aspects of process engineering and process integration play an important role.

In addition to basic research, there is close cooperation with industry so as not to lose sight of the application relevance of research. We cooperate with circuit developers to clarify questions of system compatibility of new materials and systems at an early stage.

Fields of application are flexible electronics for the Internet of Things, efficient photodetectors and sensors for sensor networks and neuromorphic hardware based on two-dimensional materials.
